Persometrics Stress Hormone Profile
CHF 219
Go beyond a single stress score. Combine your daily cortisol profile with validated psychological measures to build a more complete picture of how you experience and respond to stress.
The Persometrics Stress Hormone Profile combines five salivary cortisol measurements with a detailed psychometric assessment. Your personalised report brings together physiological, behavioural and personality information and explains the results in the context of published scientific research.

Why five cortisol measurements?
Cortisol is not static. It follows a strong daily rhythm, so a single measurement provides only a snapshot.
The Stress Hormone Profile measures cortisol from awakening through to the later part of the day. This allows your report to examine the shape of your cortisol profile as well as derived physiological measures such as the Cortisol Awakening Response, cortisol slope and overall daily secretion.
Explore what's inside your report
The report is designed to show not just your raw measurements, but how different physiological and psychological measures fit together.
Five saliva samples are collected at defined times: awakening, 30 minutes after awakening, 45 minutes after awakening, approximately 8 hours after awakening and approximately 13 hours after awakening.
Each sample is analysed for free salivary cortisol. Your individual values are presented both numerically and graphically against relevant laboratory reference information.
Your five measurements allow Persometrics to calculate additional physiological parameters rather than presenting five isolated laboratory values.
The Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR) describes the change in cortisol following awakening.
The daily cortisol slope describes how cortisol changes from morning towards the later part of the day.
Your report also estimates your total daily cortisol secretion.
Your questionnaire responses provide separate measures of two aspects of perceived stress: Tenseness and Frustration.
These measures provide information about your subjective experience of pressure and stress and are interpreted alongside your physiological results.
Your report assesses three established dimensions associated with burnout:
- Emotional Exhaustion
- Depersonalisation
- Personal Achievement
These dimensions are presented separately so that your report can show which aspects are more or less prominent in your individual questionnaire profile.
The report also considers different patterns through which work-related difficulties may develop.
Your questionnaire results are compared across theFrenetic, Under-challenged and Worn-out profiles.
This adds another layer of behavioural context beyond a single overall stress score.
The assessment also includes personality-related measures that can help provide context for the way an individual experiences work, pressure and setbacks.
Your report includes scores for:
- Personal standards
- Concerns about mistakes
- Core self-evaluations
Core self-evaluations draw on constructs including self-confidence, self-efficacy, locus of control and neuroticism.
Your report does not stop with your laboratory and questionnaire scores.
It also contains personalised educational information concerning lifestyle areas relevant to stress and wellbeing, includingnutrition, physical activity and sleep.
These sections use information you provide through the assessment together with your broader profile to identify subjects that may be useful for you to explore further.
The report provides explanatory material alongside your results so you can understand why each measure is included and how it relates to the broader stress literature.
A scientific reference section is included for users who want to explore the research behind the report in greater depth.
The Persometrics Stress Hormone Profile combines a substantial amount of physiological and behavioural information, but it is not a substitute for clinical assessment.
Individual cortisol patterns and psychometric scores should not be treated in isolation as a medical diagnosis of burnout, adrenal disease or another medical condition.
The profile is designed for personal insight and education and can provide structured information to discuss with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Sampling is performed at home using the materials supplied in your test kit. Correct timing and sampling conditions are important because cortisol varies considerably throughout the day.
The samples are analysed by a Swiss medical laboratory and are identified using your anonymous test code rather than your name or contact details.
Test-kit instructionsOne profile. Multiple perspectives on stress.
Your cortisol measurements tell one part of the story. Your questionnaires provide another. Persometrics brings the two together into one personalised report.
